Cushmic Sounds is pleased to offer this incredible 70th Anniversary 1957 Reissue Les Paul Custom from the Gibson Custom Shop, finished in Ebony with Murphy Lab Ultra Light Aged Nitro treatment from 2022
 
Now straight to the point; this beautiful guitar has suffered some damage whilst in transit to Perth from Sydney. After much discussion Cushmic Sounds was the preferred seller for this high-end instrument, based on recommendations and reviews so the current owner had the guitar shipped to Perth. Unfortunately they used a cheaper courier but what did the damage was the unnecessary internal packing material and bubble wrap. Although the guitar case was heavily wrapped in bubble wrap, the internal packaging did some damage as there was excessive pressure put on the control knobs, inevitably leading to that pressure being forced onto the top, resulting in the damage you see in my photos (See photos)
 
After a full inspection, it was discussed that any repair work would be expensive, so we have agreed to sell this beauty in "As is" condition and let the new owner decide what they'd like to do.
 
The guitar still functions perfectly and there was no damage to the actual pots, caps, and wiring. This is now a "Player Grade" at a bargain price.
 
RRP for a brand new Ultra Light Aged Murphy Lab in Australia is currently $14,999 - $15,999. There is currently a "clearance price" from Mega Music of $10,199 and a current sale price up to $12,500 from Sky Music.
 
Personally, if I was to purchase this guitar, I would have an internal repair done to protect the control cavitie's durability and leave the external scar as I feel, it adds to the the guitar’s aged look!
 
With all this being said, my asking price is an absolute Bargain, especially being a 70th Anniversary series model!

Weighing in at exactly 4kg (8.8lbs) with a solid non-weight relieved 1-piece body, carved from a single piece of Mahogany; uncommon for a Les Paul, resulting in a beautiful dark midrange tone that works so well with the Ebony fretboard, along with its super comfortable Rounded Medium "C" shape 1-piece Mahogany neck.
 
Frets - 22 Historic Medium Jumbo
Nut - Nylon
Aesthetic appointments include beautiful figured 1950s Pattern Mother of Pearl fretboard inlays with the headstock featuring the famous Split-Diamond and Gibson logo also in beautiful Mother of Pearl inlay.
 
All gold hardware has been given the Murphy Lab Light Aged treatment, with an Abr-1 Non-wire bridge and Stop Bar tailpiece.
 
Feature a pair of incredible sounding Alnico 3 Unpotted Custombuckers with Authentic Profile Gold-plated Nickel Silver covers, CTS 500k Audio Taper pots, Paper-in-Oil caps, and Switchcraft 3-way switch and Output jack.
 
Keeping you in tune are a set of period correct Kluson Waffleback tuners with aesthetically pleasing Pearloid Tulip buttons.
 
Comes with its original Brown Lifton Reissue Hardshell Case with gorgeous pink lining, Gibson Custom Murphy Lab Certificate Of Authenticity (COA), Checklist Card, 70th Anniversary Switchplate Medallion (Plastic switchplate also included), Gibson Historic Hangtags, Care Guide Literature, Warranty Card, brand new spare Amber Switch Tip in sealed packaging, and Case Key also in sealed packaging.
 
Serviced and setup here at Cushmic Sounds with D'Addario 10-46 strings, frets cleaned and polished, fretboard cleaned and lightly oiled, electronics cleaned, tested and working perfectly, truss rod tested, adjusted, and works as it should, all hardware cleaned and secured.
 
Overall condition is 'Near Mint' but with the exception of the damage from transit (See photos)
 
Frets are absolutely perfect so playability is superb.
